Naturally Fierce Feature: LaFonda

My name is La-Fonda and I’m from South Carolina. I decided (again) to become natural April of 2010. I was natural before for 5 years.
(Thanks for repping Global Couture ‘Curly Girl’ tee.)

How long have you been natural?

I have been natural for 3 years.

What motivated you to transition? Were you a transitioner or a Big Chopper & why?

I was a transitioner. What motivated me to transition was the fact that perms were NOT good for me. I hated the fact that I had to pay $40 every two weeks for something that did not benefit growth and health to my hair. I love the versatility of natural hair!

What  were some of your favorite transitioning hairstyles?
While transitioning, I would get kinky twists. I loved them!

What is your hair regimen (including fav products)?

I used to not have a regimen, but since I have color in my hair I try to pre poo (Apply conditioner to hair before shampooing to add moisture) it every 2 weeks to keep my mane moisturized. I have quite a few favorite products.

Anything you want the readers to know? Inspirational words?

When you do decide to become natural, do it when YOU are ready and be patient. Don’t compare your progress with other naturals THAT’S when it becomes frustrating. Enjoy your journey. Your kinks are your crown.
