I’m Latrenia Bryant, 42 yrs. young. I’ve lived in a lot of places and seen a lot of things but I hail and currently reside in beautiful Tampa, Florida. I’m a “sometimes” Nurse and “all the time” Photographer and Fashionista. I love all things stylish from home decor to personal style.
How would you describe your style?
Eclectic Comfy Chic is what I call my style. It’s fueled and inspired by many styles such as:
- The 70’s
at times it’s sprinkled with a little bit of this and a little bit of that..LOL
How do you decide what to wear in the morning?
That’s determined by my energy level. When I’m working my nursing job I work 3p-11:30pm. If I’m exhausted from the previous night my style for the next day is “easy breezy” topped off with simple styling. The more energetic I feel the more “layers” I add to my style.
What are your favorite wardrobe pieces?
Sunglasses and Earrings! I have a shoe box full of sunglasses and a wall display full of earrings… they’re my kryptonite.
Where do you typically shop for clothes and accessories?
I love finding pieces at my local flea market, thrift shops, consignment stores, vintage boutiques and sometimes in my husband’s closet. The department stores are usually low on my list but when I do go I head straight to the clearance rack.
Let’s talk hair. How long have you been natural? What is your normal regimen.
Lol, well, we’re born natural but I allowed my hair to RETURN to its natural state almost 19 yrs ago. That was the last time I had a chemical relaxer and I desperately could have used one on my wedding day but I stuck to my word and never looked back. I allowed my hair to “loc” 12 years ago. That entire journey was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Normally I wash my locs, use black castro oil on my scalp, air-dry and style.. Keep-it-Simple. Once a year I may put a semi-permanent color on them.
Do you have a signature hairstyle?
No, I don’t think so. Often my locs are worn in a bun/up-do or a curled/crinkled style or the occasional ponytail with the exception of when I’m missing my loose afro hair then I’ll rock my afro wig.
How does your natural hair work with your style?
It goes PERFECTLY in every way! It enhances my ethnicity and it alerts others that I’m not conforming to your standards of beauty. Allowing my hair to return back to its natural state has boosted my confidence 1000% and in my opinion that is what makes or breaks your style. I Love it!
Are you working on any ventures that we should know about.
Unfortunately, not at this time but I love partnering up with other bloggers, photographers, stylists, etc.. I love being surrounded by like-minded individuals.
