Puff..no twist out… no braid out. Yes braid out.. no wait ugh! I just can’t decide! How many of you ladies have had this experience? Not knowing what style you want to wear or what style for the perfect occasion. We’ve all been there, myself included. We get so fed up and frustrated; we find ourselves stressed out about some of the following:
- Stressed because either our hair won’t cooperate with us ( Hair 1 vs. Us 0 )
- we don’t have the same texture as our favorite Instagrammer or Youtber thus not being able to achieve the same look.
- Stressed because we’ve been natural for as long as our favorite naturalista and still don’t have the same length
- or stressed because we don’t “think” our hair is growing (my mom use to always tell me if you watch a pot of water boil it seems it will take forever…think about it)
But ladies, why do we let our hair stress us so much? We have so many fight matches with our hair and in the end we lose. Instead of fighting it, why not just work with it. Believe me, working WITH our hair will alleviate so much stress in our lives. Stress causes our cortisol levels to rise and thats a “no no.”
High levels of cortisol is destructive to our bodies and could potentially cause our tresses to fall out; and I know we did not work this hard for our natural stresses to end up on the floor ladies! So just work with your hair! If you know certain hair products don’t work for you hair, don’t bother with those products and save your money! Use what works for your hair. If you know your 4C texture can’t achieve a certain 3A style, then create a style thats all your own and OWN it. If wash and go’s aren’t your cup of tea, don’t stress. Just know, hey I tried it, it doesn’t work for me and move on. Overall ladies, don’t let your hair cause unnecessary stress in your life. Styling your hair is suppose to be fun; not a chore! Enjoy it ladies!
