My name is Tamyra. I’m from Michigan. I’m currently single. I have 2 adult sons, ages 19 and 23; they are the loves of my life. I am currently studying for my Licensed Esthetician State Exam, which is not as easy as I thought it would be.

How long have you been natural?

I’ve been natural for about 3 years.

What motivated you to go natural? Were you a transitioner or a Big Chopper & why?

I went natural because the “creamy crack was breaking hair off very badly. I transitioned because didnt know how I would look with short hair.

What has been the most memorable part of your journey?
Most memorable has been the versatility of natural hair. It has been both easy and difficult for me. The middle/back of my hair is dry as the Sahara Desert….lol

What were some of your favorite transitioning hairstyles?

I loved wearing the 2 strand twists as my transitioning style. I wore that style as a small child and I still wear it to this day! But I’m feeling fierce when I have my hair picked out into a fluffy Afro! Diana Ross and Chaka Khan are my hair idols. LOVE THEM!!!!

What have your experiences been as a ‘natural?’

I would get stares (in the beginning) from family and friends. Now my style has totally grown on all of them.

What is your hair regimen (including fav products)?

I love Taliah Waajid products. I recently started using Creme of Nature Natural hair care products.

What are some of your favorite natural hair websites, YouTuber’s, or blogs?
I love AfricanExport, Coloured Beautiful, MsVaughn, & Taryn. Too many more to name……

Anything you want the readers to know? Inspirational words?
I’m a very fun person to be around, I’m infatuated with my 5 year old Niece “Baby Tatum”, I’m naturally funny, AWESOME cook, and I love God with every fiber in my body! Ohh and I’m addicted to thrift shopping as of late. I’m the bargain queen. I call it “ballin on a budget”
