Kelsey & Kendra: We are “Beauty Gurus” Kelsey & Kendra Murrell better known as “The Glamtwinz”. We are 22 years of age and are from Montgomery, AL but currently reside in Atlanta, GA. We moved to ATL to pursue our career in the field of Beauty! We are Aveda Institute graduates and are “Master Cometologists.”

How long have you been natural? 

Kelsey & Kendra: We’ve been natural for over 4 ½ years now.

What motivated you to transition? Were you a transitioneror a Big Chopper& why?

Kelsey & Kendra: We just wanted healthier hair! We transitioned…it just worked better for us.

How would you describe your hair? ​Kelsey & Kendra: Strong & Healthy!

What do you love most about your hair?

Kendra: Versatility! I love the fact that I can wear my hair curly or straight and not have to worry about getting a relaxer to straighten it.

What has been the most memorable part of your journey?Has it been easy or difficult or both?!

Kelsey & Kendra: We never really looked at it as a journey but instead a “New Hair Lifestyle”. We’ve never even took any before or after photos to track our transitioning progress. At first it was difficult transitioning because of the stringy ends but when we saw our curl pattern coming in we both were very excited.

What were some of your favorite transitioning hairstyles or current dos?

Kelsey: Kendra has never done any transitioning hairstyles but I have done Twist Outs, Braid Outs, and Flexi Rods. I love them all!

What have your experiences been as a ‘natural?’ Any memorable reactions from family or others?  

Kendra: My experience as a natural has been good and Kelsey & I feel blessed to have motivated so many to go natural as well. The majority rules……Positive reactions from everyone!

What is your hair regimen (including fav products)?  

Kelsey & Kendra: We experiment with different types of curly hair products; especially the ones that have all natural ingredients. We “LOVE” and promote all Curls products and are Brand Ambassadors. Also, we get sooooo many requests from our subscribers to do reviews on other curly hair products as well. We feel we owe that to them since they are the reason we exist and our subscribers like to see us switch it up a bit to see the outcome from our reviews to see if they want to purchase.

What are some of your favorite natural hair websites,YouTuber’s, or blogs?

  Kelsey & Kendra: We love SunKissAlba, Naptural85,Shameless Maya….just to name a few of our favorite natural hair YouTubers!

Kelsey & Kendra: Our Mom always instilled in us that we could do whatever we set our minds to do and with God, hard work and dedication anything is possible! Quitting has never been an option for us! Our belief is “if you don’t quit you can’t lose! The success of our YouTube channel has not always been easy but it has been worth it!
