How long have you been natural?
I have been natural All my life. Although I did not transition, i wasn’t properly taking care of my hair, didn’t keep it moisturized etc. I had Seen this Lady with A big, beautiful Afro & that movitated me to start taking care of my hair.
What has been the most memorable part of your journey?
The most memorable part of this journey happened when i had literally thought my hair was not growing! I did not know what i was doing wrong. When in reality i was doing everything right. It has been both easy and difficult. I’m learning more everyday about my hair!
What are some of your favorite transitioning hairstyles?
My favorite hairstyle is a high bun! I’ve been doing that hairstyle for many years now!
What have your experiences been as a ‘natural?
My experiences being natural…People ask how do I have so much hair, Why is my afro so big, people will just stare. But it doesn’t bother me. Many of my friends and family are now going natural!
What is your hair regimen (including fav products)?
My regimen: I co-wash Every 3 days, (Suave Almond Butter + Shea butter Conditioner), I wash my hair once a week (Suave Rosemary and Mint Shampoo) , deep condition once a week with coconut oil, canola oil, and olive oil. My favorite products are Cantu shea butter coconut curling cream, suave Almond butter + Shea butter Conditioner, & Clear Eco styler Gel.
A few styling tips: I only trim my hair once a year (you do not have to trim unless you have really bad split ends, otherwise you will never see growth!) , You should not straighten/blow dry often or if not needed. Always keep hair moisturized to prevent damage.

My words to other naturals would be to learn to embrace you curls, whether they are loose, kinky, coily, etc. I grew up never liking my hair and once i started experimenting with products and different hairstyles, I began to love my hair.
